Back & Neck Care Tips
Take note of these back and neck care tips. Please consult your Chiropractic Doctor as these are only a guideline to be followed; courtesy of the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors:
- Have your Chiropractic Doctor check your spine regularly: Regular spinal checkups ensure that you maintain optimal mobility of the spine and prevent future conditions from forming.
- Exercise regularly: Weak muscles increase your risk for back and neck pain.
- Sit up properly with your neck and spine straight: A poor posture puts additional stress on your spine.
- Use your legs when you lift anything: This takes pressure off your back.
- Maintain healthy eating habits: Obesity increases the pressure placed on the spine.
- At the workplace make time for frequent stretch breaks.
- While driving make sure that your seat is not too far back or too low.
- Sleep on your back or on your side with a pillow between your legs; Never sleep on your stomach: This keeps your spine more neutral.
- Avoid reaching and lifting for overhead objects: Instead use a stool to give you that extra height.
- Parents ensure that your child’s back pack is not being overloaded.
